  1. In the Name of God Amen.
  2. I William Banks of Rhimehall in the parish of Fawley in
  3. the County of Southampton, Butcher, being of sound and disposing
  4. mind and memory and understanding; do make publish and declare this
  5. my last will and testament in maner as following, Viz, first
  6. that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged - and
  7. whereas, I have surrendered my several Copyhold Estates situated at Rhimehall
  8. in the parish of Fawley in the Manor of Bittern in the County of Southampton
  9. into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor; for the use of this my last will and
  10. testament to whome I shall appoint, first I give and bequeath all my
  11. Copyhold Estates [---] ever and wheresoever that I shall die [---] of
  12. unto my dear wife Sarah for her and during the term of her natural
  13. Life provided she shall so long remaine and continue my widow, but not
  14. otherwise, and from and after her decease or Second Marriage which ever shall first
  15. happen, then I give and bequeath all that my Copyhold mesuage or teniment
  16. malthouse and Garden and Appurtenances therewith belonging wherein I now liveth
  17. unto my son George Banks, and his heirs for ever; according to the Custom of the
  18. said Manor. Allso I give and bequeath unto my son Charles Banks all
  19. that plott or paddock of Land with the Outhouse and Appurtenances therewith
  20. belonging which I lately purchased of Honour Flight: Situated at Rimehall in the
  21. parish of Fawley, and his heirs for ever according to the Custom of the sd manor
  22. [----] Give and bequeath unto my three Children, Namely, James Banks,
  23. Mary [-------------------] Benjamin Banks the sume of one Shilling
  24. Each and no more, to be paid after my decease, allso I give and bequeath unto
  25. my daughter Sarah, the wife of William Hactor[?] of the town of Southampton
  26. the sume of twenty pounds of Good and Lawfull money of Great Britain,
  27. I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Banks the sume of forty
  28. pounds of Good and Lawfull money of Great Britain, allso I give and bequeath
  29. unto my daughter Hannah Banks, the sume of fourty pounds of good & lawfull monry
  30. of Great Britain, none of the above leguceys are to be paid until after the
  31. Second Marriage, or decease, of my Said wife which ever shall first happen,
  32. and I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my friend John Anbram of the
  33. town and County of Southampton, Butcher, and my wife Sarah, Executor &
  34. Executrix of this my last will and testament in writing where of I have
  35. hereunto set my hand and Seal the Seventh day of Semptember in the Year
  36. of our Lord, one thousand, Seven hundred and Eight Five.
