- In the Name of God Amen
- I Walter Barfoot of Basingstoke in the County of Southt Gent being
- weake of Body by of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks and
- [---] be the [---] given to Almighty God doe make and Ordaine this my
- last Will and Testament in manner and form following First and
- [---] I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my
- Creator hoping through the merits Death and Passion of my God abd
- Saviour Jesus Christ to have and receive full and free pardon
and forgiveness of all my
- sins and to ingerit everlasting life and my Body I committ to the Earth
- to be [---] buryed at the descretion of my Executor herein after named
- and as to making the disposition of all such Tempeorall [?] Estate as it hath pleased
- Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth
- Innprimis I give and bequeath unto my Grandchildren being the children
- of my daughter Hannah the wife of Robert Applefarth namely Hannah
- Mary Robert Tabiltha [??] and Rachell the sume of Twenty Pounds apeice of good
- and lawfull money of Great Britaine and to my Grandson Arthur Barfoot
- the son of my son Arthur Barfiit the sume if Twenty pounds of like
- money and to my Daughter Alice Barfoot I Give and bequeath the sume
- of Three hundred pounds of like money and to my daughter Elizabeth the
- wife of Thomas Robinson the sume of Ten Pounds of like money and to my
- said daughter Hannah I likewise give and bequeath the sume of One hundred
- and Thirty Pounds of like money and to my Grandchildren being the children
- of my Son Walter Barfoot namely John Walter Barfoot Mary and Arthur the
- sume of Ten pounds apeice of like money all which severall and respective
- legacies sume and sumes of money before mentioned to be by me given and
- bequeathed I will shall be paid unto them each and every of them
- respectively at the End of six months next after the deceases of me and
- my Wife Alice Barfoot by my Executor herein after named Item I Give
- forgive and bequeath unto my Son Walter Barfoot the sume of sixstene [?]
- pounds which he oweth unto me by Bond and whereof I will he shall Go
- Released and discharged by my Executor at the time of the decease of me and
- my said Wife Item I Give Forgive and bequeath unto my son Robert
- Barfoot the sume of One hundred pounds which he oweth to me upon
- Bond and whereof I will that he shall be released and discharrged by
- my said executor at the time of the decease of me and my said wife
- Item I give and bequeath unto my said son Arthur Barfoot the sume
- of One hundred pounds which he oweth me upon Bond and which I
- will he shall have retaine and keepe to his own use from and after
- the decease of me and my said wife and also the sume of Fifty
- pounds more of the money which I will he shall likewise gave and
- keepe to his own use from and after the deceases of me and my said

- Wife Item I will that if my said wife shall survive and overlive [?] me
- that then my Executor herein after named shall out of the [---]
- Interest of all [---] sume and sumes of Money as are due and dueing
- unto me by bond Bill or otherwise [---] grounds and allow to and for my
- said Wife sufficient and [---] meat drink apparell and all
- other necessarys during her naturall Life and if it shall happen that
- any of the debts or sumes of money which now are or [---] time of my
- decease shall be due and oweing unto me by bond bill or otherwise
- howsoever shall happen to be lost and the party or parties owing or
- in whose hande the same is or are intrusted shall prove insolvent
- and the money be irrecoverable then I will that a proportionable
- abatement or deduction shall be made out of all and every the
- before mentioned Legacys or sumes of money by me given and bequeathed
- as aforesaid according to the greatness or [---] of his her or their Legacy
- or sume of money for or in respect of any such loss or losses as may doe
- happen Item I will that if my said Wife shall and survive and overlive me
- then I will that she shall have the use and possession of all the Goods
- Chattells Implements of household household stuffe and utensills which I shall
- have and leave behind me at the time of my decease in the house
- wherein I now live during her naturall life and after her decease I give
- the Brewhouse and the Dresser in the Kitchin which I will my said son
- Robert shall have , all the other before mentioned I will shall be equally
- divided amongst my five other sons and daughters namely Walter
- Elizabeth Hannah Alice and Arthur at the discretion of the overseers of this
- my wiill Item I Give and bequeath unto my said son Robert Barfoot all such
- household Goods chattells Implements of household household stuffe and untensills
- as well within [---] without which doe belong to me and which he
- hath or shall have in his occupation or proffession at the time of my decease
- and I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said son Arthur
- Barfoot the sole and whole Executro of this my last will and testament
- to whom I doe hereby give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my
- personall estate not herein before by me given and bequeathed and
- which shall remain after my debts legacys and Funerall Expences are
- paid and discharged hereby also revoking disannulling and making void
- all and every other will and wills by me heretofore made and I doe
- hereby further ordaine appoint and desine my loving brother John Arthur
- of medlington in the said County Gent and my loving Kinsman
- John Harris of Baghurst in the said County Gent to be Overseers of this
- my will desiring them to see the same performed and to be aiding
- and assisting therein for whose care and paines to be taken therein I
- doe Give and and bequeath unto them and each of them the sume of ten
- shillings In Witness whereof I the above named Walter Barfoot the
- testator to this my last Will and Testament have sett my hand and
- seale the tenth day of november Anno Domini 1719 and in the sixth
- year of the Reign of George by the grace of God King of Great Britain
