  2. I Walter Barfoot of Basingstoke in the County of Southt Gent being
  3. weake of Body by of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks and
  4. [---] be the [---] given to Almighty God doe make and Ordaine this my
  5. last Will and Testament in manner and form following First and
  6. [---] I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my
  7. Creator hoping through the merits Death and Passion of my God abd
  8. Saviour Jesus Christ to have and receive full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my
  9. sins and to ingerit everlasting life and my Body I committ to the Earth
  10. to be [---] buryed at the descretion of my Executor herein after named
  11. and as to making the disposition of all such Tempeorall [?] Estate as it hath pleased
  12. Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth
  13. Innprimis I give and bequeath unto my Grandchildren being the children
  14. of my daughter Hannah the wife of Robert Applefarth namely Hannah
  15. Mary Robert Tabiltha [??] and Rachell the sume of Twenty Pounds apeice of good
  16. and lawfull money of Great Britaine and to my Grandson Arthur Barfoot
  17. the son of my son Arthur Barfiit the sume if Twenty pounds of like
  18. money and to my Daughter Alice Barfoot I Give and bequeath the sume
  19. of Three hundred pounds of like money and to my daughter Elizabeth the
  20. wife of Thomas Robinson the sume of Ten Pounds of like money and to my
  21. said daughter Hannah I likewise give and bequeath the sume of One hundred
  22. and Thirty Pounds of like money and to my Grandchildren being the children
  23. of my Son Walter Barfoot namely John Walter Barfoot Mary and Arthur the
  24. sume of Ten pounds apeice of like money all which severall and respective
  25. legacies sume and sumes of money before mentioned to be by me given and
  26. bequeathed I will shall be paid unto them each and every of them
  27. respectively at the End of six months next after the deceases of me and
  28. my Wife Alice Barfoot by my Executor herein after named Item I Give
  29. forgive and bequeath unto my Son Walter Barfoot the sume of sixstene [?]
  30. pounds which he oweth unto me by Bond and whereof I will he shall Go
  31. Released and discharged by my Executor at the time of the decease of me and
  32. my said Wife Item I Give Forgive and bequeath unto my son Robert
  33. Barfoot the sume of One hundred pounds which he oweth to me upon
  34. Bond and whereof I will that he shall be released and discharrged by
  35. my said executor at the time of the decease of me and my said wife
  36. Item I give and bequeath unto my said son Arthur Barfoot the sume
  37. of One hundred pounds which he oweth me upon Bond and which I
  38. will he shall have retaine and keepe to his own use from and after
  39. the decease of me and my said wife and also the sume of Fifty
  40. pounds more of the money which I will he shall likewise gave and
  41. keepe to his own use from and after the deceases of me and my said

  1. Wife Item I will that if my said wife shall survive and overlive [?] me
  2. that then my Executor herein after named shall out of the [---]
  3. Interest of all [---] sume and sumes of Money as are due and dueing
  4. unto me by bond Bill or otherwise [---] grounds and allow to and for my
  5. said Wife sufficient and [---] meat drink apparell and all
  6. other necessarys during her naturall Life and if it shall happen that
  7. any of the debts or sumes of money which now are or [---] time of my
  8. decease shall be due and oweing unto me by bond bill or otherwise
  9. howsoever shall happen to be lost and the party or parties owing or
  10. in whose hande the same is or are intrusted shall prove insolvent
  11. and the money be irrecoverable then I will that a proportionable
  12. abatement or deduction shall be made out of all and every the
  13. before mentioned Legacys or sumes of money by me given and bequeathed
  14. as aforesaid according to the greatness or [---] of his her or their Legacy
  15. or sume of money for or in respect of any such loss or losses as may doe
  16. happen Item I will that if my said Wife shall and survive and overlive me
  17. then I will that she shall have the use and possession of all the Goods
  18. Chattells Implements of household household stuffe and utensills which I shall
  19. have and leave behind me at the time of my decease in the house
  20. wherein I now live during her naturall life and after her decease I give
  21. the Brewhouse and the Dresser in the Kitchin which I will my said son
  22. Robert shall have , all the other before mentioned I will shall be equally
  23. divided amongst my five other sons and daughters namely Walter
  24. Elizabeth Hannah Alice and Arthur at the discretion of the overseers of this
  25. my wiill Item I Give and bequeath unto my said son Robert Barfoot all such
  26. household Goods chattells Implements of household household stuffe and untensills
  27. as well within [---] without which doe belong to me and which he
  28. hath or shall have in his occupation or proffession at the time of my decease
  29. and I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said son Arthur
  30. Barfoot the sole and whole Executro of this my last will and testament
  31. to whom I doe hereby give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my
  32. personall estate not herein before by me given and bequeathed and
  33. which shall remain after my debts legacys and Funerall Expences are
  34. paid and discharged hereby also revoking disannulling and making void
  35. all and every other will and wills by me heretofore made and I doe
  36. hereby further ordaine appoint and desine my loving brother John Arthur
  37. of medlington in the said County Gent and my loving Kinsman
  38. John Harris of Baghurst in the said County Gent to be Overseers of this
  39. my will desiring them to see the same performed and to be aiding
  40. and assisting therein for whose care and paines to be taken therein I
  41. doe Give and and bequeath unto them and each of them the sume of ten
  42. shillings In Witness whereof I the above named Walter Barfoot the
  43. testator to this my last Will and Testament have sett my hand and
  44. seale the tenth day of november Anno Domini 1719 and in the sixth
  45. year of the Reign of George by the grace of God King of Great Britain

  48. testament in our presence who by his direction and in his presence
