RootsWeb host tens of thousands of regional mailing lists and surname mailing lists. The lists that I have found most useful is the HAMPSHIRE-L list (for the county of Hampshire, England). There is also a BAREFOOT-L list (for the surname Barefoot and variants worldwide), but it rarely gets anything posted to it. To subscribe to these lists, send an Hampshire-L-request@rootsweb.org or Barefoot-L-request@rootsweb.org, containing the single word, "subscribe". I have also found the newsgroup soc.genealogy.britain useful, although it can get rather busy at times.

I also have a page of other miscellaneous genealogy stuff here, mostly from Hampshire, England, although the chances are that this wont be of interest to anyone except me.
